Join the #YourVoiceCounts Twitter Chat on January 31!

Back in November the Verizon Foundation held a Twitter chat to get people talking about domestic violence. During the half hour event, #YourVoiceCounts began trending, becoming the 5th most tweeted hashtag in the nation, and tweets with the tag generated more than 10 million impressions. It was inspiring to witness how powerful our voices can be when we use them together.

We want to keep the momentum going and hope you can join us for our second #YourVoiceCounts Twitter Chat, just before the Super Bowl on Thursday, January 31 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm ET.

During this special one-hour event the Verizon Foundation (@VerizonGiving) and CBS Sportscaster James Brown (@JBSportscaster) will talk to fans about what they can do to help end domestic violence, be role models for respect, and promote healthy masculinity.

We know that domestic violence happens every day, often behind closed doors, in communities across the country. And it’s not easy for people to talk about. In light of recent public tragedies in the NFL community, it seems like even more people are ready to join the conversation about how we can prevent and end domestic violence. It’s this critical conversation we’re hoping to continue through this Twitter chat, and we’d be honored if you’d join in on the 31st.

We’ll also be joined by Your Voice Counts partners and advocates from A CALL TO MEN (@LiveRESPECT), the Joyful Heart Foundation (@TheJHF), Joyful Heart’s Founder and President, actress Mariska Hargitay (@Mariska), NO MORE (@NOMOREorg), the National Domestic Violence Hotline (@NDVH), and the National Dating Abuse Helpline (@loveisrespect), who will share insight and resources on this critical topic.

We would love for you and your network to be part of this event and encourage you to join the conversation on Thursday by using the hashtag #YourVoiceCounts. To join, sign in to your account at Search for the hashtag #YourVoiceCounts to follow the conversation and add the hashtag to your own tweets to join in.
