For the 2nd year in a row W.O.M.A.N., Inc. is hosting a Community Education Series to help educate the community about issues relating to domestic violence.
“Supporting Friends & Family of Survivors”
Friends and family members of domestic violence survivors often want to help but do not know how. This session will focus specifically on providing practical tools for audience members in providing support for their loved ones: Peer Counseling Builders & Blockers, Checking Assumptions, Red Flags, Providing Referrals, Safety Planning, Self-Care.(Martin Paley Room, 3rd Floor)
“Teen Dating: What’s Hot & What’s Not”
This session is geared towards adolescents who are exploring the dating scene, and aims to help teens create healthy boundaries and recognize warning signs in their relationships.(Mary Louise Strong Room, 1st Floor)
This series of presentations are open to ALL community members who are interested in learning more about domestic violence and W.O.M.A.N., Inc.!
