First W.O.M.A.N., Inc. Pet Calendar a Major Success!

W.O.M.A.N., Inc. printed our first pet calendar for 2015. Made up of submissions from the community, the pet calendar was a labor of love. We appreciate all the people who shared their and their pets’ stories; they truly illustrated the bond between pets and their humans.

"I'm a domestic violence survivor. I've been though hell and back multiple times but Dakine, my Alaskan Malamute has stood by me every step of the way. She was my shoulder to cry on and always seemed to understand. Without her I don't think I would have made the tough transition to freedom. She truly is my best friend."

Beyond that, the calendar offered us an opportunity to connect with you, our community of supporters; we are so thankful for that impact.

The 2015 calendar was a bit of test–we weren’t sure people would order them, so we printed a conservative 50 copies. They pretty much sold like hot cakes. With the help of long time supporter, Cole’s Hardware, who sold some calendars in their store, we sold out rather quickly. All-in-all, we brought in approximately $1,000, which we are very pleased with. The money will go to bolster the Claire Pierce Moreira Pet Fund and other services vital to our participants’ lives.

"Athena and her sister Owl keep this Domestic Violence Advocate goin'! They are both rescue pets, and their resilience and biggest of hearts bring so much joy to my life, I am so very grateful."

THANK YOU for ALL your support, whether it be financial, spreading the word about WINC, calling our line or just caring about what we do. We are so much stronger when we all stand together for a peaceful community…and that includes our pets!
