Many Thanks to the Producing Team of the Vagina Monologues!

On Valentines Day weekend, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. was thrilled to be a beneficiary of a spectacular production of Vagina Monologues at A.C.T.’s  the Strand Theater.
This performance of The Vagina Monologues was presented as a part ofIMG_1604.JPGV-Day’s Campaign, ONE BILLION RISING, an international movement to end violence against women. This annual mass action unites millions around the world to advocate for justice, safety and systemic change. Every year, thousands put together benefit events in honor of V-Day to raise money for local rape crisis centers and domestic violence organizations. Last year, these efforts have raised awareness, impacted legislature, and collectively raised over $100 million in urgently needed funds for groups doing the essential work of ending violence and serving survivors and their families. The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. Through these selected monologues reverberates stories of resilience, liberation and self-empowerment. For more than a decade, The Vagina Monologues has shined a light on intimate but important experiences and has brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending gender-based violence. (x)IMG_1607
