On behalf of our staff, volunteers and board, we’re excited to share with you our 2018 Annual Report!
As you may remember, we turned 40 in 2018. Over the decades, we’ve cultivated our organizational wisdom as we have learned to adapt, ground ourselves in survivor-centeredness, and embrace intersectional feminism. W.O.M.A.N., Inc. has experienced it’s share of challenges and successes, all of which have brought us to this space where we are thriving.
As we honor what has come before, mid-year, we transitioned to a future-facing stance. As a result of this stance we established a theory of change. It is the culmination of much work, discussion, exploration and reflection. I, along with the rest of Team W.O.M.A.N., Inc., hope this theory of change inspires you to stay connected with us as we work toward our newly established goals, many of which involve an anti-oppression lenses in our work. You can read more on page 4.
A watershed moment has occurred; our country is expanding its platform to include the stories of survivors of sexual assault, abuse and domestic violence in ways we haven’t before. Here at W.O.M.A.N., Inc, we believe all of us have a role to play in anti-violence work. Believing survivors is the critical first step–whether their stories are amplified across the country or they are shared one-on-one between friends, all of these stories of trauma, resilience and survival are important.
Please continue to help us be here for survivors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for 40 more years. I hope you keep in touch and updated on our activities via social media and our newsletter list. Please join us and enjoy our report.
In solidarity and resistance,
Jill Zawisza, Executive Director
