We were excited to provide a support group at our offices where one of our fellow Pioneras, Laura, facilitated for the first time. She provided an 8 week Spanish support group where they discussed topics on self-esteem, healthy relationships, boundaries, and built community amongst fellow Latinx Program clients. Laura was able to embrace her leadership skills as well as provide support for her community.
Earlier this year, we were honored to have our Echando Pa’lante workshop accepted into the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (CPEDV)’s Shifting the Lens Conference. Laura co-facilitated a discussion with W.O.M.A.N., Inc. staff members Adilia, Alicia and Stephanie on our Echando Pa’lante program entirely in Spanish. Alongside advocates & leaders in the DV field across California, Laura got a chance to share her healing journey & co-creation of Echando Pa’lante highlighting the power of bringing survivors to the center of the work to end domestic violence.
