Caring for Ourselves, Caring for our Communities by the Riley Center

Mark Your Calanders! The Riley Center is inviting us to their upcoming event, Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Our Communities to be held on October 30th, at our Community Office (1175 Howard Street).

Here is their invitation:

“As advocates for survivors and builders of safer communities we often put an extraordinary amount of heart and energy into our work. However, we often forget to take time to nourish the joy of our work and take sweet care of ourselves.

The Riley Center invites you to join us as we enjoy light refreshments, music to dance to, and self-care stations, which we are hoping, will include massage, manicures, and more. This will be a relaxed and energized space for advocates and community partners to be in community with one another, have some fun, and practice some self-care.

Attached you will also find instructions, and a template for a community based art project that we encourage you to participate in!  It only takes a few minutes, and helps us to focus on our visioning for healthy relationships and communities- and that includes our own Domestic Violence Advocate community! 🙂

We look forward to celebrating each other and sustaining the good work we do every day by paying extra sweet attention to ourselves during Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Please feel free to circulate the attached flyer. All staff and volunteers are welcome to attend. Costumes are of course encouraged!

With great appreciation and respect,

The Riley Center”
